Lateral Carbon Fluxes from Two Marshes in the Barataria Basin, Louisiana

As part of a Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group project, the USM Coastal Ecosystem Biogeochemistry Lab is measuring lateral carbon fluxes from both a salt marsh and a freshwater marsh in the Barataria Basin, Louisiana.

Seasonal Greenhouse Gas Exchange in Salt Marshes with Contrasting Salinity and Hydrology

This study investigates seasonal fluxes of carbon dioxide and methane from two hydrologically distinct salt marshes in coastal Mississippi—Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and Pascagoula River Coastal Preserve—which differ in salinity and freshwater input.
